Chocolate
Last Modified 12/31/2006.

When I started my own website in 1995 to share some of my software, I decided to branch off from the usual freeware and shareware. I made mine chocolateware. I suggested that anybody who used my software send me chocolate. My email signature was "Will Work for Chocolate".

Before I knew it, people were actually sending me chocolate! After several years of getting chocolate in the mail (sometimes melted, depending on the season), I can tell you chocolate is not the ideal exchange.

I do have other interests besides chocolate and programming. I play the piano. One of my favorite composers is George Gershwin, though I really like the true classics, too, especially Chopin. I like to downhill ski at Killington, Vermont if you'd rather send a ski pass. I like to work out at the High Point Mountain Aikikai and BodyKi Center - awesome place. Ask me about them. I like to read. I've been reading a lot of Hemingway, lately. I like fine wine, tasty hot sauces with amusing labels and beef jerky. If you'd rather send any of these to show your appreciation for the site, the free software or some free advice, that would be fine. A heartfelt thank you note is as much treasured as anything else.

In the spirit of tradition, my chocolate contributors are:
